Our Ear Training Two Note Books have expanded into a New Line and are improved to make learning this important skill faster and easier for students. The goal of this Ear Training Two Note Books is to hear two notes simultaneously and determine which key these notes are playing in, and what their relative pitch degrees would be in a key center. This technique is both challenging and rewarding, in that it teaches you how to modulate and then use the skills you have obtained in the One Note Ear Training and the Key Note Recognition courses. If you can master two note ear training you will find that all other courses in ear training will be much simpler. At that point it is mostly educating your ear to different "contexts" such as the Practice Perfect Applied Ear Training Series that has you working on one note ear training with real music.
Recommended Prerequisites to Ear Training Two Note
We recommend that you are getting 80% correct notes on the following courses before attempting the Ear Training Two Note Books.
The new expanded Ear Training Two Note Books gives you 3 speed levels. This makes the course easier for beginners, but delivers advanced abilities. There are also three different types of exercises contained in each download.
The "Classic" course plays a cadence, then two simultaneous notes. After a pause you hear the names of the pitches played.
We have created the "Stereo" exercise series because throughout the years we have heard from students who have a hard time hearing two notes simultaneously because they can't hear the separation of two distinct pitches. The "Stereo" edition should be used with headphones, and it plays a cadence and then two notes, one in the left, and one on the right side of a stereo mix. The answer given is also separated left and right. This "Stereo" version of the Two Note ear training course addresses the student's problem and usually facilitates speedy improvement.
The "Singing" course also plays a cadence then two notes followed by the answer of which notes have been played, but it plays the pitches with the sound of voices, so that you can sing the pitches either with or before you hear them. Students have recommended this as a way to "tune up" your ear and we agree that it's a great way to really make sure you are hearing the two note combination.
Our Ear Training Two Note Books New Line also includes the use of different instruments to help you make the skills you learn with this method easy to apply to any instrument. You can purchase the "Classic," "Stereo" or "Singing" version separately or as a complete method.
We recommend owning the complete method, but give a listen to the examples below to make your own determination as to what will work best for you.
