- What people are saying:
- Comping Styles really helped me the get my sixteenth note feel together. Believe me it needed work. Fortunately this book starts off easy and progressively gives you more and more challenging rhythms. Keep in mind this book is written in regular staff notation so if your reading skills are weak it could be a real challenge to learn the chord progressions. W. Anders
- I'd highly recommend this book for an intermediate to advanced guitarist that needs to tackle their rhythmic skills when it comes to a sixteenth note groove. It relies heavily on a pick and fingers technique with your picking hand. It's a great sound and grooves like crazy but it takes some time to get it together. It's perfect for a solo guitar or solo accompaniment style. If that is what you are looking for then this book is great. H. Franks
- I wanted to learn to read on the guitar but everything I tried was too hard. Trying to combine notes and rhythms and playing on all strings was too much. Single Strings allowed me to just concentrate on the notes and just play on one string. This made reading music something I could manage and over 6 months of 10 minutes a day I now know all the notes on the staff and where they are on the guitar. Now I'm concentrating on just rhythms with Mr. Arnold's Rhythm Primer and Rhythms Volume One. If you have the same problems with learning to read I recommend this a way to get started. I. Dunn.
- I find the unique comping style for funk in this book very different from most funky guitar patterns. It's almost like playing the bass and the guitar parts at the same time. Excellent for accompanying someone but also works well in a group situation. The audio files were great to help me learn each progression and also a lot of fun to solo over. This workout will really get sixteenth notes into your pocket if you know what I mean :) K. Kay
- Funk and the sixteenth note feel is the backbone of so many contemporary styles. My groove was pretty non-existant before I worked through this book. I really turned that around from studying this book. I also really enjoyed the chord progression. Awesome chord ideas and everything fits perfectly on the guitar. If you need to improve your rhythm this definite "must own" book. P. Bennett.
