The internet is full of websites and apps that teach you ear training but what most of these courses of study
miss is the following:

  • Ultimately you need to apply ear training to real music. If a course of ear training study doesn’t give you
these types of exercises isn’t the whole point missed?
  • All students learn differently and are at different levels when starting ear training.
  • You need a guide who will answer your questions as they arise. With most courses at some point you have to
make hopefully educated guesses on how to proceed. Mr. Arnold offers free email support for all courses so
that you can ask specific questions. This makes sure that you don’t practice the wrong way!
  • You need many different types of exercises to solve specific problems that you may have with ear training.
Muse Eek Publishing Inc. through 40 years of experience has all the courses you will need to take your ear
training abilities to their highest point.

Practice Perfect Applied Classical Ear Training Series

As previously mentioned the Bach Chorales are often said to contain most of the harmonic movement that is used in
western music even by today’s standards. Therefore they are a excellent place to start with classical ear
training but also for any musician interested in developing their understanding of music via their ear and not
just through intellectual understanding of the music theory behind each piece. There are two volumes currently
available which cover two Bach Chorales.
