Question regarding Music Theory Workbook All Instruments
Q: I am working in Music Theory Workbook for All Instruments. course. Specifically "00 Lesson.pdf" on page 01. Whereby, I'm being directed to a full chord explanation on pg. 20 and Interval's Exercise on page 22. Problem being, I can't seem to find these pages. This particular lesson only goes up to pg. 15 but I'm hoping it might be located elsewhere. I've been searching around the other files and content to no avail. I hate to waste this question on you as I am trying to answer my own questions throughout this endeavor and I've only just begun but, I could use your help with this.
A: Thanks for the message. I think you are looking at the page numbers based on the adobe PDF reader and not the page numbers on the text. The text pages go to page 21. Page 22 starts the exercises where you fill in answers. Let me know if that helps or if you have any other issues with understanding how to get started with the book. The videos are pretty good about explaining which things are important and how to do the exercises once you get there but I'm here if you have a problem. Music Theory Workbook for All Instruments. is a hard one to get started with and even harder to keep going. I've had students advance place out of 3 levels of college theory just by completing this one book. If you could do at least one or two pages a week that would be great. But it does get a lot easier as you go. As the book progresses the chords have more notes in them but you start seeing and remembering the core structure and then just add in the extra "tension" notes. When that starts to happen it goes pretty quickly to complete a page.
Remember the answers are in the back of the book but there are also alternative answers for the first few pages so you can check those too.
Best Regards,
Bruce
