Course Description
Whether you play guitar or upright bass or just about any instrument, Yoga for Guitarists with Joe Palese can help you if you are experiencing pain from playing or the many stresses of gigging. These can be carrying equipment or standing for long periods of time holding an instrument.
Playing can put the body into positions that are not always comfortable, such as holding hands up for long periods of time, or pushing shoulders forward. And sometimes we clench more and more, until our body simply stresses out.
Yoga for Guitarists can help you troubleshoot many physical issues:
If you find that:
- You are getting lower back pain from lifting your instrument, or standing with it around your neck.
- Your hands and wrists are getting painful, stiff and sore when you play.
- You have tightness and stress in your upper arm.
- Your neck and shoulders ache after a gig; or perhaps EVERYTHING aches after a gig…
- You are concerned about getting tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome.
Then Yoga for Guitarists is for you.
A yoga teacher and musician for more than two decades, Joe Palese knows how the two passions of music making and yoga can connect in both a scientific and holistic way. He created this video course for any musician who aims to play music either as a hobby or for a living, so they can perform, practice, and strengthen their bodies, and concentrate solely on the music.
Relieve the aches and pains that have plagued you for years
In this video course Joe will demonstrate and explain the poses and stretches that have relieved and/or healed injuries for many musicians, including:
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Tendonitis of the wrist and elbow
- Chronic tightness of the shoulders
- Rotator cuff issues
- Low back pain
Yoga for Guitarists is for any musician
Yoga for Guitarists is for anyone who regularly picks up a musical instrument, or who practices or performs regularly. It is a one-stop shop for general repetitive-stress injury prevention or rehabilitation.
This course developed out of helping fellow musicians at gigs who asked how to relieve their discomfort and pain. Over the years, with a record of success treating these problems with yoga stretches, relaxation and breathing techniques it became evident to Joe that there was a real need for a targeted program. Yoga for Guitarists addresses the specific physical areas where musicians have the most trouble, and uses the techniques that Joe has found to be tried and true.
Are you experiencing any of these physical issues?
If you are experiencing pain from playing, here are more reasons why this course is for you:
- If you’ve never done yoga, no problem! This course was designed with the beginner in mind.
- You will learn why these injuries occur and what you can do to prevent or heal them.
- These poses can be practiced ANYTIME. Take a few minutes before or during rehearsal, before a gig or on a break between sets, or create an easily sustainable home routine.
Note: Of course, if you are playing with improper technique, your problems will re-occur no matter the therapy. An excellent guide to proper technique is “Guitar Physiology” produced by the folks at TrueFire.
Advisory: The techniques and suggestions presented in this video and website are not intended to substitute for proper medical advice. Consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program. The yoga for guitarists video assumes no responsibility for injuries suffered while practicing these techniques. If you are elderly or have any chronic or recurring conditions such as high blood pressure, arthritis, heart disease, and so on, seek your physician’s advice before practicing to determine necessary precautions.

So what are people saying about Yoga for Guitarists?
- What people are saying:
-
- I have several Muse-Eek products. I just bought the yoga course. This is extremely timely for me as I have been suffering from tennis elbow, hand pain and numbness, shoulder problems etc. since I started playing classical guitar last June. For some reason classical guitar posture hurts me much more than my sloppy way of playing my electrics. This is so even though I make efforts to get the posture right. I am sure that it has something to do with not being in good condition generally. I believe the yoga will address this….D Penton
- Joe’s guidance has helped me and many top flight musicians in New York City to overcome physical issues associated with playing. I’ve worked with the exercises that Joe has recommended to me for years. These exercises have helped me to maintain a career in music by addressing weakness I’ve had in my lower back and strengthening my core muscles. That has helped me to get through tough touring situations and week-long recording sessions. When Joe came to me with the idea of putting everything he had developed over the years for his musician friends into a video course, I jumped on it. Joe’s exercises are highly targeted, take very little time to implement, and done correctly are remarkably effective. Watch each video multiple times so that you see and hear all the instruction and details that Joe gives. You will find that he is really knowledgeable about the physical stresses that are particular to playing music, is a world class yoga teacher and knows up front what issues you may run into while doing the exercises. I don’t selI anything on this site that I do not have full confidence in. I highly recommend this course to help you become the best musician you can be….Bruce Arnold
- I’ve been doing it and I think it’s great. I have had problems with my left hand being stiff and painful and I’m already feeling better. I can’t do anything that makes shortens or tightens the tendons, like weight lifting and playing guitar aggravates it too. It’s hereditary on my dad’s side. He’s had a few operations for trigger fingers and I have them too off and on. Kinda scary for a guitar player…..D. Barrette
- I love the way it’s laid out, great exercises, lots to work with here. A bargain at $14.99. Thank you….E. Hoffman
