What people are saying:
I was a little skeptical about this Perfect Pitch course. I’ve checked out quite a few online communities that discuss Perfect Pitch and whether it’s learnable. But I figured for 14.99, which is a complete bargain compared to most other methods, why not give it a try. I practiced about 1 1/2 hours a day with the reading and listening exercises and within a week I was able to sing on the note “C” about 80% of the time. I then moved on to “F” and found that remembering two notes consistently was harder but after about 3 weeks I was able to sing both the “C” and the “F” about 75% of the time. Being able to identify notes when I hear them was a much slower process. After 3 weeks on a good day I’m about 40%. So YES this is working. I actually find the exercises to be fun and I can do the listening anywhere. I can even do the singing quietly when I’m commuting. Mr. Arnold says it commonly takes a student about 2 years to nail perfect pitch on one instrument though some people do it more quickly. He also said as I add in other instruments it will be much easier especially if they are the same kind of instrument, like Tenor and Also Sax. I think the main thing to realize about getting the Perfect Pitch course is you have to be religious about doing it everyday. Again Mr. Arnold said that especially in the beginning missing one day is like missing 3 weeks. So keep that in mind. Overall I’d recommend the Perfect Pitch mostly because you can contact Mr. Arnold when you have a questions which is priceless. R. Cordeiro
I’ve been having a conversion with Bruce via email about the Ear Training One Note Complete and Contextual Ear Training. I mentioned how I was hearing the ear training and he informed me that I was thinking of it more like perfect pitch not contextually within a key center. I was getting about 40% correct so something was working. He recommended I get the Perfect Pitch Ear Training for Piano. Within a week I had three notes pretty much memorized. I’ve always heard sound as physical movement in space and an emotional feeling I get from certain notes. Mr. Arnold course gave me concrete exercises to organize my practice and gave me a lot of ideas about how to hear each note. By this I mean he recommended the color of a note i.e. blue, green etc… but he also recommended shape and texture which I had never thought about. I instantly could hear how “C” is fuzzy as opposed to G which is smooth. Fascinating stuff. I highly recommend you check Muse-eek.com’s Perfect Pitch Ear Training Series they really get you thinking about sound in a whole new way and in my case helped me realize the difference between Perfect Pitch and Contextual Ear Training listening.L. I got the Perfect Pitch Ear Training for Heavy Metal Guitar for my son about a month ago. He’s 14 and never takes the earbuds out of his ears. He says it’s working for him and that he can already do “E” and “A” so I’m happy. Whether he will continue remains to be seen but I keep mentioning to him that if he gets this together at such a young age music will come very easily to him as he progresses. He’s got a lot of ambitions so hopefully he will develop this skill to help him in his career. R. De Jong
Perfect Pitch Ear Training for Piano was a purchase I made as soon as it came out on Muse Eek. I’ve been at it for a few months now and I’m able to sing four notes: C,F#,G and Bb about 75% of the time. You may wonder why I choose those four notes. When I started I really pretty quickly heard a remarkable difference between those notes. C sounds big and expanding, “F#” had a much tighter sound at least than “C” and it is kinda orange in color. “G” is completely different being more Blue and looks like the 2001 Space Odyssey Obelisk. “Bb” is almost black to me and dull sounding. I’m having more of a problem when these notes are in extreme ranges and can only do it with the MP3s not with real music but I’m in for the long haul I find this way of hearing sound resonates with me a lot.
