Q: I am wanting to learn to read music and play the guitar better.

A:  I think in your case I’d go for the New York Guitar Method because it’s going to give you a combination of learning to read music, theory exercises along with a lot of other stuff.  So start with New York Guitar Method Volume One

I would also get a Jam Tracks Volume One to use as you learn the scales.  Also get Guitar Technique because I’m going to have to check your guitar technique before you launch off into practicing all this stuff.  So get those and write back and I’ll have you make a video to send me and help you build a practice schedule and then you can start improving guitar sight reading.
